, BCCI to remain exempt from RTI Act, Sahara Groundwater

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will not be subject to the provisions of the Right to Information (RTI) Act, according to the latest version of the National Sports Governance Bill, 2025.

According to the proposed law, only sports bodies that are recognized by the government will be subject to the RTI Act.

The BCCI has been resisting attempts to bring it under the RTI Act for many years.

This decision has been criticized by many, who argue that it is unfair and discriminatory.

The BCCI has also been accused of being a closed club, and of not being transparent about its finances.
