Shloka Ambani, daughter of Mukesh Ambani, recently spoke about the need for more workplaces to adopt hybrid and remote work arrangements, especially for mothers. She said, “We have to allow for remote working solutions. Because there are not necessarily many things that you can achieve in a day that require you to be physically present in the office.”
Dr. Chandni Tugnait, a psychotherapist and director of Gateway of Healing, agrees that this shift is important for measuring success in the modern workplace. She says that by focusing on outcomes rather than hours, workplaces can encourage employees to work smarter and more efficiently. This approach also promotes flexibility and autonomy, leading to a better work-life balance and enhanced self-management.
By focusing on outcomes, workplaces can also encourage innovation and creativity as employees are empowered to think outside traditional time constraints. Ultimately, this model builds trust and accountability between employers and employees, reducing micromanagement and increasing job satisfaction.
However, Dr. Tugnait cautions that while this model is beneficial for many industries, it may not suit all roles and requires adjustments in communication, management, and technology infrastructure for seamless implementation.
